The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is committed to addressing racist policies and long-standing practices that perpetuate racism and inequity on our campus, particularly regarding staff affairs. The committee’s work is aimed at creating an equitable, diverse and fully inclusive campus by sharing the commitment of anti-racism and anti-discrimination with all members of our campus.
Goals 2022-23
Our committee goals for the year:
- Foster University faculty and staff campus-wide affinity groups, in order to create a connected and thriving community on and off campus
- Hold space for discussion and growth by hosting quarterly EDI book clubs
- Provide a safe place for faculty and staff to bring their concerns involving discriminatory policies, practices, or for those who may be facing discrimination in the workplace
- Create connection and build relationships with campus and off campus organizations who are able to provide support to marginalized individuals
EDI Events
Throughout the year, we organize a variety of events including our EDI Book Club. Check out our events (past & upcoming) below.
Affinity Groups
The University has recently created guidelines and a process for employees to form and participate in Affinity Groups on campus. The goal is to create safe spaces for individuals and their allies or advocates to share their ideals, experiences, and information.
